Media School faculty include award-winning professionals with years of practical experience in their fields, as well as internationally ranked researchers.
Communication Science faculty develop and test theories about how communication works using an array of empirical methods. Graduate students working with Communication Science faculty might specialize in or combine our three major approaches: social science, which studies the nature, uses and psychological and sociological effects of media; law and policy, which studies the creation, implementation and modification of public policies related to communication in domestic and international forums; and historical-interpretive, which studies the historical record for insight about past, present and emerging communication technologies.
