If you have a passion for a type of media that isn’t currently represented by one of our existing student organizations, you can apply to create your own group.

Your first step is to make sure no existing groups meet the same need. Search BeINvolved to find out.
If not, follow these steps.
To reserve space at Franklin Hall — or anywhere on campus — you’ll use the Space Reservations website.
Note: Your organization must be registered at BeINvolved before you can use this service.
Make space reservationsRegistered student organizations that are advised by Media School faculty members may request to promote events and opportunities in our weekly student e-newsletter, on our events calendar and on digital screens throughout Franklin Hall.
Promote your event or opportunityAll registered student organizations are classified as either University Student Organizations or Self-Governed Student Organizations.
USOs have a formal affiliation with a school. They're entitled to administrative services, but must comply with all IU policies and procedures. The Media School's USOs are:
All other organizations are SGSOs, which operate independently of The Media School. SGSOs may seek guidance on relevant policies and procedures from the Student Involvement & Leadership Center.
USOs may use some IU and Media School branding elements.
In accordance with IU policy, USOs must receive advance approval for hospitality expenditures, such as meals and refreshments.
