Student Experience

Travel opportunities

A student wears headphones outdoors.

Stories everywhere are waiting to be told. Media School students go out and find them though our local, national and international travel opportunities.

Whether you’re reporting on religion and conflict in Northern Ireland, studying game design in Tokyo or interning at a TV station in London or Los Angeles, you’ll return with hands-on experience and a new perspective through travel.

Service learning

Your media skills are valuable to the community. Service learning programs provide the opportunity to volunteer with a nonprofit organization by creating media.

You can give back through a for-credit course, an alternative break trip or a non-credit collaboration. Whichever you choose, you’ll gain content for your portfolio and new professional skills.

Creativity is contagious. Surround yourself with fellow future filmmakers, journalists, game designers and play-by-play announcers as a resident of the Media Living Learning Center.

The Media LLC is a community in Forest Residence Hall based on a common passion for media. As a member, you’ll have special access to faculty and campus and community media outlets, and you’ll travel to New York City to visit major media outlets.
