Apply nowIf you are a high school student or entering college for the first time, you’ll need to apply to IU to be admitted to The Media School.
If you are admitted to IU Bloomington and indicate a major in The Media School, you will begin your studies in your major program of interest at the start of your freshman year and receive immediate access to Media School advising and career resources.
Please review the College of Arts and Sciences Entrance Policy for details and exceptions for standard admission into The Media School.
If you are applying to IU and The Media School as an international student, you’ll start the process at the Office of International Services.
Visit the Office of International ServicesIf you’re a current IU student interested in pursuing a Media School degree, there are pathways available to you.
If you need to switch majors from another department or school, you’ll need to see your academic advisor.
Learn more about declaring a major in The Media SchoolThe process is slightly different depending on whether you’re transferring from another IU campus or from another university. Either way, you’ll apply through the Office of Admissions. You’ll be able to transfer credits as part of the admissions process.
