WIUX, the student-run independent radio station, is housed in a second-floor suite in Franklin Hall.
WIUX broadcasts locally on 99.1 FM and generates multiple online program streams, providing students the opportunity to learn music programming, news and sports broadcasting, and hone their on-air skills.
The space contains two radio studios as well as a production area and office space.
The main 99.1 studio is equipped with a 14-fader Axia Element broadcast console and Electro-Voice RE27 N/D mics, and the smaller B-side (internet only) studio has an additional 8-fader Axia iQ console. The main studio uses iMediaTouch broadcast automation and schedules with MusicMaster traffic software.
WIUX is capable of playing digital files, CDs, and vinyl records on the air and uses a Comrex BRIC-Link system for remote broadcasts from around the campus and community.
