The Media School continues to innovate, matching our undergraduate and graduate curriculum to the rapidly evolving media landscape. This innovation is led by our faculty, in consultation with our Dean's Advisory Board and our Alumni Board, which review our curriculum on an ongoing basis.
Recent undergraduate curriculum updates include a public relations minor, a renewed emphasis on data journalism, the development of “story labs,” a course on food journalism, and a concentration and minor in fashion media.

We launched a B.F.A. in cinematic arts, the centerpiece of which is a two-semester thesis. Students are required to write, direct, shoot, edit, post-produce, and distribute a short film.

Game Development Camp hosted students in person this summer for the first time since 2019, but it retained a virtual option to reach students outside the Midwest.
