Wright receives APA’s Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Media Psychology & Technology Award
Professor and director of communication science Paul Wright has received the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Media Psychology & Technology Award.
The award recognizes outstanding scientific contributions to the field of media psychology and technology. The award was presented at the 2023 APA Conference in Washington, D.C.
Prior recipients of the APA’s Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Media Psychology & Technology Award include Dean Simonton, distinguished professor emeritus of psychology at The University of California; Douglas Gentile, distinguished professor of psychology at Iowa State University; and the late Dorothy Singer, co-founder of the Yale University Family TV Research and Consultation Center and previously the William Benton professor of psychology at The University of Bridgeport.
Wright was named an International Communication Association Fellow earlier this summer. Last year, Wright was listed in a study of research influence spanning from 1960 to 2021 and also identified as a prolific publisher in flagship communication journals.
