Weaver chapter on influence of news media in encyclopedia
Distinguished Professor Emeritus David Weaver is author of a chapter in Gianpietro Mazzoleni’s book, International Encyclopedia of Political Communication, published by John Wiley & Sons in January.
Weaver’s chapter, “Agenda-Setting,” is a summary of research from 1972 to the present on how news media influences policy makers and public opinion. He also looks at how that influence extends to how issues and subjects are emphasized in news media.
