‘IU NewsNet’ named best newscast in SPJ Region 5
“IU NewsNet” was named the best college newscast across a three-state region in this weekend’s Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence awards for Region 5.
IU student journalists won four other awards and were finalists in four categories. The Indiana Daily Student was a finalist for the best affiliated website and the best all-around student newspaper.
The winners were announced at the virtual regional conference April 9 and will compete with the winners of the other 11 regions in the national competition.
Region 5 encompasses Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
