Grabe to speak in Ecuador about journalism’s gender gaps

Associate dean Betsi Grabe will speak this week at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador about gender gaps in both production and consumption of news.
The talk, “Gendered News: A few evidence-based insights on journalists and media users,” is Friday, and will present information that will help journalists reconsider how they present news.
Grabe’s research finds that women are more likely than men to avoid news, both in consuming it and entering into the industry as professional journalists.
