Cohen appointed first Poynter Chair
Journalist Roger Cohen has been appointed first Indiana University Poynter Chair.
Cohen is a columnist on international affairs and diplomacy for The New York Times and International New York Times. He is an award-winning author and has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He has written for The Wall Street Journal and is author of Hearts Grown Brutal: Sagas of Sarajevo, a retrospective on his experiences in the Balkan peninsula.
The Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions aims to examine the relationships between ethics, media and public institutions. It is a research center of IU’s Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty & Academic Affairs.
The Poynter board, which appointed Cohen, includes Media School faculty members:
