Berlin social media panel features Shanahan, Monaghan
Media School dean James Shanahan and professor of practice Elaine Monaghan will speak on a panel Thursday at the IU Europe Gateway at the Council on International Educational Exchange Global Institute in Berlin.
The panel, “The Effects of Social Media on Public Communication and Journalism,” will discuss new demands emerging in the field, the effects of social media on journalism and more.
Culture and media journalist Anne Haeming will moderate the panel, which also features Alexander Görke and Margreth Lünenborg of the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at Freie Universität Berlin.
This panel is part of a joint speaker series between IU and FUB that aims to bring together scholars to discuss current topics of global politics, stir research initiatives and trigger public debate.
