Criteria for selection: 

Please submit anything that demonstrates your ability to report from a sports event onsite, either during or immediately following the event. Examples could include a game recap (any sport) filed on deadline, a social media thread covering key moments as they happened, or a short postgame video interview with a coach or player. What you submit should show your ability to be present at a game, capture what happens in real time, and deliver accurate, insightful coverage under deadline pressure. Also useful to submit would be previews published before a game or an in-depth analysis of a team’s season outlook. Ideally, what you submit for work samples should prove you know the game of football. If they don’t (maybe your previous work has focused on basketball), then write a short letter of introduction, explaining how you came to have a solid understanding of the game of football. Feel free to write a short introductory note or submit a resume, anyway, even if your work samples make it obvious why you fit the criteria
