Biography
Malia Bruker is a filmmaker, media artist, and Senior Lecturer at Indiana University where she directs the BFA in Cinematic Arts. She makes documentaries, dance films, and immersive media, and work that blends these genres and formats. Malia’s films have screened nationally and internationally at venues like International Film Festival Rotterdam, Antimatter Video Art, Atlanta Film Festival, and Athens International Film and Video Festival, and has won awards at Chicago Underground Film Festival, FilmGate Interactive Festival, Atlanta International Documentary Film Festival, American Dance Festival, and more. Her newest Cinematic VR project Lychgate reimagines the journey of The Chosen One in the iconic ballet The Rite of Spring.
