Biography
Chih-Ju (Carol) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Media School at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research focuses on cultural, political manifestations and gender representation in East Asian cinemas, especially Chinese-language films. Her first journal article, “Awarding Chinese-Language Cinemas: Imaginary Transnational Identities of the Golden Horse Awards,” was published in The Velvet Light Trap in Spring 2022. Previously, she received her M.A. in Cinema and Media Studies from University of California, Los Angeles, and her B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures from National Taiwan University.
