Biography
Chih-Ju (Carol) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Media School at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research focuses on cultural and political manifestations in Chinese-language cinemas and film industries. Her dissertation working title is: “Film as Infrastructure: China’s World Visions and the Emergence of the Afro-Eurasian Media Network.”
Her first journal article, “Awarding Chinese-Language Cinemas: Imaginary Transnational Identities of the Golden Horse Awards,” was published in The Velvet Light Trap in Spring 2022. Previously, she received her M.A. in Cinema and Media Studies from University of California, Los Angeles, and her B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures from National Taiwan University.
