Lin wins World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship grant
Media School associate instructor and doctoral candidate Carol Chih-Ju Lin won the World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship for the 2023-24 calendar year.
Lin was awarded a grant of $7,500 by the Smith Richardson Foundation. The grant will support the fieldwork of her dissertation research, which centers on the culture and politics in Chinese-language cinemas and film industries. The working title for her dissertation is “Film as Infrastructure: China’s World Visions and the Emergence of the Afro-Eurasian Media Network.”
The World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship program is a grant competition sponsored by the Smith Richardson Foundation each year in hopes to support doctoral dissertation research regarding American foreign policy, international relations and security, strategic and area studies, and diplomatic and military history. Up to 20 grants of $7,500 each are awarded.
