Weaver, Wilhoit article on 40-year study published in Journalism Studies

A new article by emeriti professors David Weaver and Cleve Wilhoit on research from the 40-year American Journalist study has been published in Journalism Studies.
“The American Journalist in the Digital Age: How journalists and the public think about journalism is the United States,” by Lars Willnat of Syracuse University, Weaver and Wilhoit, explores the role of social media in journalism. The report is part of a series of studies conducted during the past four decades by Weaver, Wilhoit and colleagues.

Weaver served on the faculty of the School of Journalism for more than 30 years, teaching mainly research methods and political communication to graduate students, and in earlier years beginning newswriting, newspaper editing and public opinion to undergraduates.
Wilhoit, a nationally recognized journalism researcher and a 2015 inductee into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame, was an IU professor for 36 years.
