Weaver article analyzes journalists’ social media use
An article by distinguished professor emeritus David Weaver and Lars Willnat, MA’91, PhD ’92, about U.S. journalists’ use of social media appears in the latest issue of Digital Journalism.
“Social Media and U.S. Journalists: Uses and perceived effects on perceived norms and values,” examines U.S. journalists’ use of social media and how it affects their ideas about the role of journalism.
The article finds that journalists who hold a more positive view of social media tend to also consider journalists’ roles to primarily be populist-mobilizers and disseminators.
