Sellers lectures in Kuala Lumpur
Game design professor of practice Mike Sellers traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to present two talks, “Systemic Game Design” and “Nuts and Bolts of Game Monetization,” at Kolej Damansara Utam University College.
Sept. 5, Sellers presented the first talk to GameFounders Asia, a game development accelerator. The second, presented Sept. 7, was to students and faculty at KDU University’s game development program. He also met with students and faculty at the university to give feedback and discuss The Media School’s game design program.
While in Kuala Lumpur, Sellers met with other game teams from across the world, including teams from Korea, Brazil and Russia. He said he hopes to use the experience to create future opportunities for IU students and faculty to work with international teams.
Sellers’ research interests include massively multiplayer online (MMOs) games and virtual worlds. His research on social artificial intelligence was funded by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
