Media School students win 4 IASB categories
Media School students won four categories and placed in five categories at the 2023 Indiana Association of Student Broadcasters College Broadcasting Competition Awards.
The association conducts high school and college competitions to recognize excellence in student broadcasting each year. Student-produced radio, television, and multimedia content are evaluated by a panel of industry professionals.
This is the first time “Hoosier Sports Nite” has placed first in IUSTV’s 20-year history.
Evan Kamikow, who placed both personally in the TV News Anchor category and for “Hoosier Sports Nite” in the Video Sports Program category, emphasized how important teamwork is to his success. Kamikow said he and his co-director Emma Watson set a goal for themselves before taking over “Hoosier Sports Nite” to move IUSTV Sports to the top of Indiana college TV.
“So, now to be able to say we did that is something that we were both emotional about after we found out,” he said. “But like I said, it doesn’t happen without our amazing team of reporters, producers, and all the faculty and staff that sacrifice time for this to happen.”
