Lanich places 10th in Hearst breaking news category
Carley Lanich, BAJ’18, placed 10th in the 2017-18 Hearst Journalism Awards Program’s Breaking News Writing Competition.
Lanich received a certificate of merit for her story, “Former Jacobs school instructor sentenced to two years probation.” Her story was one of 94 entries in the breaking news writing category from 53 undergraduate schools.
Earlier in the year, Lanich placed third in the Enterprise Reporting Competition.
IU finished in first place in the Intercollegiate Writing Competition for the sixth consecutive year, and seventh in the overall competition.
