Associate professor Jim Kelly was a keynote speaker at the International Conference on Media and Communication Research in Multan, Pakistan on April 25 and 26. The Institute of Media and Communication Studies at Bahauddin Zakariya University hosted the conference.
During the event, Kelly met with students in doctoral or master’s programs and postdoctoral researchers, some of whom were his former students. He also attended the Annual Alumni Dinner as a guest of honor and spoke with local media and senior media practitioners of the region.
Kelly has been to Pakistan several times during his career, serving on a half dozen doctoral committees at BZU and many more at other Pakistani universities. He last visited Multan in 2010. Most of those former students and two long-time colleagues based in Pakistan also attended the conference.
