Junior Daniel Flick wins Joan Brew Scholarship
Media School junior Daniel Flick was named the winner of the $10,000 Joan Brew Scholarship for the 2025-26 school year, an award given out by Hilltop30 Media Group LLC.
Flick will work for Indiana Hoosiers on SI — a part of the Sports Illustrated Network — for 10 months during his senior year, covering football and men’s basketball. His first assignment will be Big Ten Football Media Days in Las Vegas. He has been covering Indiana sports at the Indiana Daily Student for three years.
The scholarship is named after Joan Brew, the mother of Tom Brew, who has been publisher of Indiana Hoosiers on SI since 2019. Tom Brew has shared a press box and media room with Flick for the past three years.
Flick previously worked with On SI as a correspondent covering the Atlanta Falcons. His internship will go from July 2025 through April 2026.
