Alumni board welcomes 4 new members
Four alumni with careers in advertising, promotions, branding, production and marketing have joined The Media School Alumni Association board.
The new members are:
Jared Solow is a sales integration project lead at Comcast Media 360, a Division of Comcast Spotlight and based in Indianapolis. He works with local, regional and national advertisers to go beyond basic age and gender targeting to use digital-like metrics to better inform and execute their TV and digital campaigns.
Previously, Solow was a media associate at Tapestry, a multicultural advertising agency division of Starcom MediaVest Group in Chicago. While at Tapestry, he was responsible for media planning and buying for clients such as Jim Beam, Best Buy, Red Lobster, Daisy Brand Sour Cream and Hillshire Brands. He has also worked as an interactive specialist at the E.W. Scripps Company.
Solow graduated with a degree in telecommunications and lives in Indianapolis.
Deva Newman is a senior vice president and creative director of the Brand Creative Group at TV Land and Nick at Nite.
She joined Viacom 15 years ago as an on-air promotions producer for Nick at Nite. Soon after, she was promoted to senior producer while adding TV Land to her network promotion responsibilities. In 2010, she became vice president/executive producer of the group, spearheading the creative direction, development and production of on-air and off-air promotion and branding.
Prior to her work in cable promotion, Newman spent four years as a producer for “Dateline NBC,” where she was a field producer on a number of competitive news stories, including her Emmy-nominated work on the Columbine High School tragedy in Littleton, Colorado.
Newman graduated with a degree in telecommunications and lives in New Jersey.
Elise Jaffe is the founder and executive producer of Big Teeth Productions, a creative production studio specializing in entertaining and strategic video content for advertising/public relations campaigns and social media.
Jaffe graduated with a degree in telecommunications and lives in Chicago.
Greg Sorvig is the director of film programming and marketing for Heartland Film Festival. He is responsible for the organization’s public relations, communications and marketing efforts, acting as the organization’s media liaison with major studios, filmmakers and media outlets.
Previously, he worked as a graphic designer and multimedia design manager.
Sorvig graduated with a degree in communication and culture and lives in Indianapolis.
Board members serve three-year terms.
