Mentees

Get support from students who've been there

The Media School is piloting a peer mentor program for first-year direct admit students from historically underrepresented populations. Mentees will be paired with third- and fourth-year students for a yearlong mentoring program.

The program will also welcome any first-year Media School students who reach out for support, with the goal of helping all mentees feel more connected and supported early in their Media School experience.

As a mentee, you will meet with your mentor one a month. You should stay in regular communication, and participate in pre-semester and post-semester meetings with the program leaders.

What are the benefits of being a peer mentee?

  • Build your network and connect with other students.
  • Increase your self-confidence and self-awareness.
  • Develop strong communication skills.
  • Exposure to new and different perspectives.

What is expected of me as a mentee?

  • Attend social events.
  • Meet with your mentor at least once a month.
  • Communicate with your mentor weekly.
  • Attend an end-of-semester review meeting.
