
Production crew internship course

Job description
This is a hands-on 3-credit Media School practicum course where students refine and improve their practical skills as studio production personnel in a professional environment. Students will serve as production crew for 16 live-to-tape episodes of the state-wide weekly news program Indiana NewsDesk, produced by Indiana University’s WTIU-PBS and aired statewide on Indiana’s public television stations. The program is recorded Fridays 12-3 p.m. Work will take place under the mentorship of Radio/TV Production Department staff with students gaining proficiency in the operation of pedestal and jib cameras, teleprompter, lighting console, video servers, character generator, production communications systems, and other studio equipment as well as serving in the critical production roles of assistant director and floor Manager.
Required qualifications
Production experience required, either through work or previous courses with the Media School.
