A guide to applying for internship courses on Handshake
Permission to enroll in MSCH-X472 and MSCH-X474 is granted via application through Handshake.
How to apply
- Go to app.joinhandshake.com/stu/experiences, choose Indiana University-Bloomington if prompted, and log in with your IU email and passphrase.
- Click the blue "Submit an Experience" button.
- On the following page, use the "Experience" template to choose "Media School: MSCH-X472/474." Use "Term" to select your chosen semester.
- Complete all of the remaining fields.
- Click the green "Submit an experience" button on the bottom of the page. You’ll be taken to a page that displays your newly completed application.
Who is my internship supervisor?
The application asks your to provide the email address of your supervisor. Your supervisor is the person at your internship site who supervises and evaluates your work. At the conclusion of your internship, your supervisor will be required verify the total number of hours you worked at your internship site and provide an evaluation of your work.
Approval routing
Your application will route to The Media School and your internship supervisor for approval.
The length of time it takes for your application to process is dependent on your supervisor's response time. We recommend you tell your supervisor to look for an email from Handshake once you submit.
You'll receive an email once your application is approved or denied. In the meantime, you can check the status of your application in the "Experiences" tab on Handshake.
Course enrollment
Upon approval of your application, you will receive an email with instructions to authorize The Media School to enroll you in the course.
