Craig Wood joined the journalism faculty in 2007. He teaches introductory and advanced advertising, public relations, and integrated marketing communication courses.
Craig’s career in the advertising and public relations industry has spanned 40 years during which he has provided strategic communication, advertising and public relations counsel to some the world’s leading corporations and brands.
As executive vice president of Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agency in New York, Craig served as worldwide account director and was chief operating officer of Saatchi & Saatchi/Rowland, an integrated, business-to-business, global communication agency.
Craig received a Bachelor of Arts from Wittenberg University and a Master of Science from Montana State University.
Craig is the recipient of numerous awards for his client work in advertising and public relations including the One Show, Clio, ADDY, ANDY, Sabre, and the IABC Golden Quill Award.
He is Accredited in Public Relations, APR, by the Public Relations Society of America and the Universal Accreditation Board; and he is a member of the American Advertising Federation.
Craig is a recipient of the Gretchen A. Kemp Teaching Award. A Fellow at the Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions, Craig is a contributing editor to Media Ethics Magazine. He is the faculty adviser to the Bloomington Advertising Club, the IU student chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
