Biography
Hannah is a masters student in the Media Arts & Sciences program. She got her undergraduate degree in journalism from Texas Tech University in 2021 and has since worked in local news broadcasting, digital marketing, and national reporting. She was named a Texas Press Association Scholar in 2021 and graduated summa cum laude with honors from the Honors College.
Hannah’s research focuses on journalistic practices in the transition to digital media, the role of media in politics and elections, and the denationalization of news. In the era of digital and social media dominance, she is researching best practices for journalists and media outlets to navigate an online sphere that is overwhelmed with disinformation and sharp partisan divides. She is also researching the relationship between objectivity and impartiality.
“If someone says it’s raining and another person says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the f*&king window and find out which is true.” – Jonathan Foster
