Biography
Dan Hassoun is an archivist at IU’s Black Film Center & Archive (BFCA), the only repository in the world solely dedicated to collecting, preserving, and celebrating Black film history.
He holds a M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D in Communication & Culture (with an emphasis in film and media studies) from IU. His research on audiences and cultural studies has been published in Cinema Journal, Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, Television & New Media, Participations: Journal of Audience and Reception Studies, New Media & Society, and Continuum: Journal of Media & Cultural Studies. He has been affiliated with IU since 2013.
