Our student media outlets have faced increasing financial uncertainties in recent years. So for the better part of this year, Media School faculty, staff, students, and alumni have dedicated their time and creativity to forming a plan to ensure the longevity of our student media outlets, maintain their tradition of excellence, and offer the best opportunities and experiences for our students.
No. The three outlets, which serve unique functions, will maintain their individual brands but will be supported by shared business and editorial advising operations. They’ll also collaborate on joint products such as a mobile app and newsletter, with potential for more content creation collaborations.

We are optimistic we can achieve our goal of being budget-neutral within three years. If revenue projections fall short, we will assess and re-strategize at the end of year three with a goal of budget neutrality by the end of year five.
No. Revenues are largely concentrated in specific periods of the academic year. The transition to special editions will allow us to reduce print costs, while leveraging existing and enhanced revenue opportunities

Yes. Donations are managed and spent according to donor intent. Donations to the IDS will stay with the IDS, donations to WIUX will stay with WIUX, and donations to IUSTV will stay with IUSTV.
