Stocking chapter applies Buddhist ethics to media practice
A chapter by associate professor emerita Holly Stocking on Buddhist ethics appears in the second edition of “The Routledge Handbook of Mass Media Ethics.”
The chapter, “Buddhist Moral Ethics: Intend No Harm, Intend to be of Benefit,” provides a non-Western approach to media ethics. The chapter focuses on the Buddhist principle of minimizing harm, which has clear implications for media professionals.
The book is edited by Lee Wilkins and Clifford G. Christians.
