Potter, Smith selected for CEWiT mentorship program
Associate professor Rob Potter and assistant professor Lauren Smith have been selected as mentors for the Center of Excellence for Women in Technology ‘s Emerging Scholars Research Experience for Undergraduate Women program.
Smith has partnered with Amanda Miller, a sophomore human biology major. They will work on a project titled “Determining Photo Preferences to Athlete Instagram Photos.”
Potter will work with Claire Dudek, a sophomore neuroscience major on a project on emotional responses to popular music.
The program began in 2014 and partners freshman and sophomore women with faculty mentors to lead the students in eight to 10 hours of research weekly. Students also take a two-credit hour class on research methods and receive a $500 scholarship.
