Metzgar participates in panels, discussion session
Associate professor Emily Metzgar participated in a series of panels and was a featured speaker in a discussion session earlier this month in Japan.
June 7 in Tokyo, Metzgar spoke on a series of panels entitled Towards a Multilateral Framework on Public Diplomacy: The Case of U.S.-Japan- China, sponsored by Keio University, the Japan Foundation and the University of Southern California’s Center on Public Diplomacy.
June 9, Metzgar was a featured speaker in a discussion with students at Kyoto Foreign Studies University. The session, A Conversation about Public Diplomacy, was hosted by KFSU’s professor Nancy Snow.
Metzgar has written extensively on public diplomacy. She is the immediate past head of the International Communication Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Her work has appeared in several academic publications, including the Journal of Studies in International Education and the Journal of Mass Media Ethics.
