Metzgar fills several roles at ISA conference
Associate professor Emily Metzgar served in several capacities at the International Studies Association conference Feb. 18-21 in New Orleans.
Mezgar was both chair and presenter for a panel titled “Tools of Soft Power.” Her paper is titled “Institutions of Higher Education as Public Diplomacy Tools: China-Based University Programs for the 21st Century.”
She was the organizer of and a panelist for a session titled “The Scholarship of Public Diplomacy: An Oxymoron or the Real Deal?” She presented the results of a meta analysis of public diplomacy literature since 1966 with colleagues Craig Hayden of American University and Efe Sevin of Kadir Has University.
Metzgar served as a discussant for a session titled “Emerging Scholars in Public Diplomacy.”
