Martin presents on memories of slavery at two-part conference
Professor Michael Martin presented a talk on slavery and memory April 22 at the second convocation of The State of Memory of Slavery: International Comparative Perspectives conference.
His talk, “Trans-Historical Memory: Mediating Bondage, Past and Present,” discussed the memory of slavery as a critical category that mediates between moments in history.
The second convocation was at the University of Ottawa in Canada, and Martin also participated in the first half of the conference in October in Paris.
