Kilgo article published in Health Communication
An article by assistant professor Danielle Kilgo was published last week in Health Communication.
“Spreading Ebola Panic: Newspaper and Social Media Coverage of the 2014 Ebola Health Crisis” explores how different news media covered the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. While media had a history of crafting messages to instill fear in the public, newspapers broke from that pattern in 2014, the article argues.
Kilgo worked on the student with doctoral student Joseph Yoo and professor Thomas J. Johnson, both of the University of Texas at Austin.
