Herber talks on role of tech in music
Senior lecturer Norbert Herber presented “Plugging In: The Role of Technology in 21st Century Musicianship,” at the IU conference Music + Technology in the World of Ideas April 8.
The conference was hosted by the IU Jacobs School of Music Collegiate Chapter of the National Association for Music Education in partnership with Jacobs’ Project Jumpstart and the Indiana Music Educators Association.
Herber discussed the role of technology in his current work. He focused on revealing the creative and aesthetic priorities in some of his recent projects as he looks for new ways to create sound and share it with listening and playing audiences.
Herber’s research focuses include generative music and sound design.
