Gray presents at two geographers’, ethics board meetings
Associate professor Mary Gray presented her work at two annual association meetings this spring.
In April, Gray presented her paper, “Working for Legitimacy: Unpacking the Gender Dynamics of Digital Production in the Lives of South Indian Women,” at the Association of American Geographer’s annual meeting in Chicago. The association is an educational society interested in the theory, methods and practice of geography, according to its website.
She also gave the keynote address at the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards in Vancouver on May 1. Her talk was titled, “When Science, Consumer Rights, and Human Subjects Research Collide. Now What?” This group aims to allow professionals to share best practices and improve credibility in the research community.
Gray’s research focuses on intersection of new media and online ethnography with gender and sexuality, among other things. She teaches courses regarding sexuality and the media.
