Grabe named leadership fellow
Associate Dean of The Media School Maria Elizabeth Grabe has been named an IU 2015-16 Academic Leadership Program fellow.
This program is designed to help professors planning to pursue careers in academic administration to develop leadership skills. The Committee on Institutional Cooperation sponsors the program, which consists of three seminars and campus-based meetings with administrative leaders.
Grabe was named associate dean of The Media School in February and assumed this new role on July 1. Grabe has been a faculty member in the former IU School of Journalism and the former Department of Telecommunications. She taught classes in mass communications theory and research methods.
She joins four other professors in this class of fellows:
- Pnina Fichman, associate professor and chair of library science in the School of Informatics;
- Shawn Gibbs, professor of environmental health and executive associate dean of the School of Public Health-Bloomington;
- Michael McGuire, professor of executive associate dean of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs; and
- Jamie Prenkert, professor and chair of business law and ethics in the Kelley School of Business.
