Gall Myrick paper looks at anti-tanning campaigns
Assistant professor Jessica Gall Myrick is author of a paper on indoor tanners’ attitudes that has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Health Communication.
“An Empirical Analysis of Indoor Tanners: Implications for Audience Segmentation in Campaigns,” looks at how breaking the population into smaller groups changes effectiveness of anti-tanning media campaigns.
Co-authors are Dannielle Kelley, Seth Noar, Brenda Morales-Pico, Alexandra Zeitany and Nancy Thomas all of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
They concluded that breaking the target audience into groups of regular users and irregular users could help deter indoor tanners.
