AATSP honors Holly Hays
Senior Holly Hays has received an Indiana Outstanding College Student Award from theĀ American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
Hays is pursuing a dual degree in journalism and Spanish with minors in history and Latino studies. She currently serves as the editor-in-chief for the Arbutus yearbook.
The AATSP outstanding student award honors those with academic excellence, a peaked cultural interest, involvement in community service, experience studying overseas and a great passion for their work.
Specifically, the qualifications are non-native students with a GPA of 3.7 or more studying Spanish or Portuguese.
Hays, as part of the IU Honors Program in Foreign Languages, traveled to Valencia, Spain, in 2011 to study for seven weeks.
