‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’ screening
The City Lights Film Series will screen “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?,” which tells the story of a Great Depression-era dance marathon that turns into a horrifying spectacle.
The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards, and Gig Young received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance as the marathon’s conniving emcee.
The Media School is a co-sponsor of this IU Cinema event, and doctoral candidate Caleb Allison curated the series.
The event is free but ticketed.
