Aishah Hasnie, BAJ’06

Aishah Hasnie was promoted to senior national correspondent in 2024 from her previous role as Congressional correspondent for the Fox News Network. She most recently served as FNC’s New York-based correspondent, reporting from the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, she was named a New York Woman of Impact by Variety. Prior to her reporting role, she served as an overnight anchor for the network. (October 2025)

Marissa Meador, BAJ’25, BA’25

Marissa Meador, BAJ’25, BA’25 (political science) was named a Pulliam fellow at the IndyStar during the 2025 summer. She was a summer intern recognized for her passion in local journalism, and was sponsored by the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting. (October 2025)

Karina Rubio, BAJ’19

Karina Rubio, BAJ'19, recently joined Arizona's Family as a weekend anchor and reporter in May 2025. Prior to this, she was associated with WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois for 6 years. (May 2025)

Robert Gildea, BA’54, MA’64

Robert Gildea, BA'54, MA'64, died on July 13, 2025, at the age of 93. He earned his degrees in journalism and was an Ernie Pyle Scholar. Among his accomplishments, Gildea was named an Indiana Public Relations Legend by the Indianapolis PR Society. For 18 years, he was an instructor for PR at IU, Butler University, and Ball State University. 

Noelle Friel, BAJ'21

Noelle Friel, BAJ'21, BA'21 (political science), has joined the Local 4 WDIV Detroit team.  Previously, she used to work with the WAVE News team in Louisville, Kentucky, as an anchor and reporter. Her other experiences include working as a multi-media journalist and fill-in anchor at NBC 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (June 2025)

Arriel Vinson, BAJ’17

Arriel L. Vinson, BAJ'17, publishes debut novel, "Under the Neon Lights" - https://indianapolisrecorder.com/qa-black-hoosier-author-debuts-under-the-neon-lights/. Vinson earned her MFA in Fiction from Sarah Lawrence College. Her poetry, fiction, and essays have appeared in Cosmonauts Avenue, Waxwing, [PANK] Magazine, Lunch Ticket, Electric Lit and others. She is a 2019 Kimbilio Fellow. (July 2025)
