Florence Myrick Ahl, BA 1899, was the first female editor-in-chief of the Indiana Daily Student in 1897. After graduating with a degree in English, Ahl became a community leader in Centerville, Ind., and was founder of the community’s public library.
She also was president of the Centerville Woman’s Club, a charter member of the Collegiate Club and the Scribblers. She died in 1946.
