Media School alum wins 2025 Last Row Party Scholarship

Matt Press, BAJ’25, is the winner in the sports reporting category of the Indianapolis Press Club Foundation’s Last Row Scholarships. Winners receive one of three scholarship amounts of $1,031, $1,032 or $1,033, which mirror the checks handed out to the last row drivers in the Indianapolis 500.
Each year, the IPCF awards scholarships to three student journalists in the categories of deadline news, feature writing, and sports reporting. Winners also received the opportunity to meet Indy 500 drivers from the last or 11th row of the race’s starting grid during the Last Row Party at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 22.
Press is now working as a high school sportswriter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
