Krahnke wins Mumford Excellence in Extraordinary Teaching Award
Senior lecturer Steven Krahnke is one of the inaugural recipients of the Dr. James E. Mumford Excellence in Extraordinary Teaching Award, awarded by the Bloomington Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching.
The award recognizes instructors who demonstrate innovative, creative and compassionate teaching in response to extraordinary events.
Krahnke was honored in part for his efforts with students to design and complete the sound stage set in Studio 5.
The award is named in memory of James E. Mumford, who built an esteemed career as the director of the IU Soul Revue and as the director of the African American Choral Ensemble.
A donation was made in the awardees’ names to IU’s Crimson Cupboard Food Pantry, IU Bloomington’s on-campus resource available to all IU community members.
