The Indiana Daily Student took top honors in the Indiana Collegiate Press Association’s annual competition.

The IDS was named top newspaper of the year, and IDS and Arbutus staffers earned 70 individual awards.

Brook Baker Indiana Collegiate Journalist of the Year Award

Cate Charron, BAJ’22, was named Brook Baker Indiana Collegiate Journalist of the Year, making this the sixth year in a row the award has gone to an IU student. Charron was selected for her dedicated coverage of sexual assault on IU’s campus, including:

• “IU’s denial of sexual assault record access violates public access laws, state says“
• “‘We weren’t speaking to our family’: Jazz students express frustration after town hall“
• “How IU used the code of conduct to intimidate a student pushing critical open letter“
