Fargo attends AEJMC conference in Chile
Associate professor Anthony Fargo traveled to Santiago, Chile, to participate in a discussion panel at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication International Regional Conference Oct. 16.
He joined in on the talk, “Journalism and the Right to be Forgotten,” at the first AEJMC International Regional Conference scheduled Oct. 15-17.
The panel of law and journalism scholars and journalists discussed the “right to be forgotten” ruling against Google that the European Court of Justice passed over a year ago. Under the ruling, Europeans who claim search results misrepresent them can ask search engines not to include certain links.
Fargo also is director of the school’s Center for International Media Law and Policy Studies.
