Students from the Media LLC roved the streets of Chelsea in New York City and arrived at The Aperture Foundation Gallery on Jan. 17. Upon arrival, the students were lead up four flights of stairs to a room lined with photographs that captivated the crowd. The gallery features both classical and contemporary photograph exhibitions.
“When I first walked in, I got really giddy,” Media LLC resident Lauren Weidinger said. “I thought the place was inspirational.”
Messages next to each photograph explained the photographer’s point of view in depth, which helped students appreciate the photographs even more. The messages were also a means for giving photography tips to students.
“The messages really helped me understand the artist,” Weidinger said. “I even bought the book Photographer’s Playbook from there. It has all of the tips in it.”
Visiting The Aperture Foundation Gallery was an experience that intrigued the students and helped strengthen their desire to work in media.
